Cellular Release Therapy® is a hypnosis based technique used to release trauma from the body and mind. Trauma can be described as any experience that sends us into a sympathetic or protective state. As we feel the need to protect ourselves as a result of these experiences, we then begin to develop patterns of thinking and beliefs that shade or flavour how we experience and respond to the world around us. This can affect us in many different ways, for example: in our relationships, through our physical body, via use of substances such as food, nicotine, alcohol, drugs, etc. to numb or dampen down the discomfort or emotional pain we are experiencing. Our state of mind can also be affected through feeling anxious or depressed.
By using hypnosis, access is gained to the subconscious mind where all memories of all experiences are processed, recorded, stored and retrieved. Once the body and mind are in a relaxed state (which is hypnosis) the subconscious mind can reorganize the traumatic experiences/memories and then clear them. Clearing does not erase these memories, it simply neutralizes them or takes the charge out of them. Our subconscious mind is very much like a computer. It is able to process information at about 1,000,000 bytes per second and is receiving sensory information from our environment at a rapid rate and needing to draw upon past experiences in order to respond “appropriately”. This is what enables us to survive at the most basic level, but beyond that, to grow and thrive. Those memories that trigger us to behave in a way that is designed to protect us from a perceived threat are stored where they can be quickly retrieved so that we can draw upon that experience rapidly to protect ourselves in a situation that may feel similar. Clearing then, can be likened to defragging your computer – reorganizing these packages of information (experiences/memories), processing them so they are not so triggering (neutralizing them) and then storing them in a more appropriate way.

CRT sessions are 2 hours in length.
The initial appointment for CRT involves a detailed assessment and an opportunity to go over your trauma list. This first session does not usually include any hypnosis.
Prior to your appointment please make a list of situations that have been difficult or traumatic for you in your life and may still hold an emotional charge for you. This may include emotional, physical or verbal injuries/trauma, surgeries, illnesses, etc. If making this list causes any distress then discontinue the list and we will develop it together in your appointment. If there is any history of sexual abuse please don’t include this on your list, we will discuss this during the appointment.
